"A City founded on Progress needs Progressive Leaders –

so that together we can Champion the 21st Century"

Today, we are upon a time in which we could continue with the same expectations that have lead Brockton to a city surrounded by a political moat, filled with mud of stagnant social and economic growth.

If it were not for this ideology we could have been the Cambridge of the south shore, the Brooklyn, of the south shore, the Dupont Circle of the south shore, the list goes on. Name all that is great in America and one can relate to the history of Brockton.

Our long history as a town and then a city and what the city should be is well understood by those individuals who believe in the truth of the reality at hand. Brockton’s political leadership, whose ranks include very well-seasoned, long term incumbents, has done an amazingly fit job at maintaining the moat.

I will say nothing negative about those who decide to serve the public, but for those who govern for their own interests is another letter all together. It is not an individual’s vanity or public fare that causes me to write these thoughts down. It is by matter of principle that I have decided to ask the people of Brockton to allow me to serve as City Councilor, based on the abilities and ideas brought before the city which lack the vision and expectations of likeminded, progressive thriving cities across our nation.

We will all never agree, nor should we all agree on the issues facing our city, with an exception to the attitude that we must together finally put Brockton back on the map as one of America’s greatest cities with an open government, a green urban plan and the attitude to accomplish such a task. The answers are not always clear. Every issue is as important as the next. If we are to strive for the best, for a truly modern city, the issues must be tackled simultaneously. For we sit on a web of issues.

I urge you all to read my web site on many of the topics surrounding Brockton. I will continue to write about and will be happy to add anything related to Brockton. What I am saying is not wrong – I am simply objectionable to the way things are being done. Brockton will certainly face fiscal turbulence in the near future. We have the opportunity to begin a new direction of self-investment in the quality of life for Brockton.

I truly believe it is time to get Brockton leading others as a city of champions in the 21st century. We cannot accomplish a Bigger Better Brighter Brockton if we do not elect progressive individuals with knowledge of accomplishing the amazing. There is so much to do: open government so it is transparent, rebuilding the downtown as an urban gathering of commerce, beautifying the city and stopping violence. This is accomplishable with the right attitude. I have a tenacious attitude for the right ideas. I will bring
a successful new face to the table. I know the importance of debate and that the proper checks and balances to any government give us not simply a successful government but also a living city. On
Election Day, November 6th, I ask for your vote.

Sincerely,

Patrick Quinn
